Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala)


Mac (PowerPC) and IBM-PPC (POWER5) desktop CD
For Apple Macintosh G3, G4, and G5 computers, including iBooks and
PowerBooks as well as IBM OpenPower machines.

IA-64 desktop CD
For Intel Itanium and Itanium 2 computers.

PlayStation 3 desktop CD
For Sony PlayStation 3 systems.
(This defaults to installing Ubuntu permanently, since there is usually
not enough memory to try out the full desktop system and run the installer
at the same time. An alternative boot option to try Ubuntu without
changing your computer is available.)

La release Ubuntu 9.10 è ovviamente disponibile anche per altre piattaforme.

    Io sono riuscito ad installarla sul mio iBook G4.
    Perfetta.
    Salvo un inconveniente:non vede l'unità ottica!

    Se l'unità ottica è IDE, prova a creare un link da /dev/hdc a /dev/cdrom e incrocia le dita.

    A me funziona benissimo sul Powerbook G4... fino a quando all'unità ottica non si è fuso il motorino (non riesce ad avviare i CD).

    Per cui ho risolto comprando un adattatore da USB a IDE (nella confezione era compreso un alimentatore esterno), e ho recuperato un vecchio drive DVD-ROM da un PC scassato. Sta funzionando benone (sto continuando a campionare con ripperx i miei CD di musica classica).
